Today is the last day of school. It is 3:30 in the afternoon. I found Caleb like this after he had an emotional outburst over practicing the piano. This is what we've done so far:
1. Emma and Caleb went to school for an hour and a half. Rachel didn't go to her school because she went to the elementary school to visit her sixth grade teacher that she loves so much.
I'm proud/relieved to say that all three kids get to advance to the next grade level.
2. I ran for the first time in about 20 years. Hated it! Will keep trying if I don't want to die in August. I learned that I need to wear something other than yoga pants jogging; I almost lost my pants a few of times. I know, I know, TMI. I also learned I need to pace myself, no sprinting at the beginning if I want to finish. I'll try again in a couple of days. Maybe someday in the near future I won't hate it as much.
3. Rachel hung out at a friend's house making videos.
4. Emma went swimming with a friend.
5. I blogged, did laundry and blogged some more.
6. Caleb went to a neighborhood party complete with hot dogs and an inflatable slide and obstacle course.
I guess that's why he went to bed by himself in the afternoon. We shouldn't have stayed up until 11:00 last night watching "Psych".
7. Spent a couple of hours trying to create a network for the three computers we have at home. I've decided I have no idea what I'm doing.
Hello summer!

We will survive summer, we will survive summer. Let's all say it together.
That's funny I see that you're trying running too. Just today I was talking with my neighbor about starting a running routine and she hates it just like you. I told her and I'll tell you, running is something you get better at just like soccer, dance, piano. You'll hate it at first and get frustrated but the better you get the more you'll like it and then you'll LOVE it when you get into your groove. Enough about running. Good luck with summer. Everyday is summer for me (No all day school yet) so I'll get to that phase of life soon.
You guys love Monk and Psych! And I can't believe you were even attempting to create a network. Sounds super complicated, and completely unnecessary. But I don't really know anything about computers, so it may be very necessary.
I hope your summer is wonderful!
Looks like Caleb has the right idea! So cute that he gave himself a much needed nap! I'd volunteer to join you running, but I would just make it up the road to Jimmie Johns and convince you to stop for a sandwich so I'd do you no good. Good luck...
Caleb is so great! Maybe he could explain to my super over-tired kids that naps aren't evil and can be self imposed when needed?
I'm not a huge fan of the running thing either. I keep trying it hoping for a different outcome each time, but inevitably I stop, then start up again a few weeks later hoping for that different outcome again. We'll see if I ever break the cycle. Good luck and yes - for moms it is an oxymoron that it's called "Summer Vacation!"
oh, it's summer? I remember when this change in seasons use to be a big deal and actually mean something. ahhhh *sigh*
