Not Much Going On

Week 2 of summer vacation. I took a picture of the kids doing their daily reading. Notice how they each have their own tasty beverages with them? Oh, what a life!

Running is going better. Today I ran more than twice the distance the first time in the same amount of time. I didn't lose any articles of clothing, either.

Tried riding Ed's touring bike he lent me. Wow, so much different from my mountain bike! I was hunched over, trying to reach the brakes and shifting the gears, which by the way are on the frame of the bike instead of the handles. Toe clips? There are toe clips!?! To make a long story short, I took it easy today on the bike because I was a little bit concerned about running into parked cars trying to figure everything out. I'll get it soon, I hope.

Your kids look so happy doing required summer reading. Can you come to my house and work your magic? Good luck with your bike. Hang it there!

I'm glad to hear someone else doesn't have a million things going-I was starting to feel like a looser because my kids have nothing to do yet this summer!
p.s. The guy at the bike barn told me to practice with clips on grassy areas. Summercrest park is a good place because it has that track with grass on both sides of it. That way if you fall you can at least shoot for grass instead of pavement! Good Luck! Are you training for a tri in the next little while, or are you just gearing up for next year?

How much did you pay your kids to pose like that? C'mon! Just kidding. We all read, but it happens only at bedtime at our house and sometimes late summer nights get in the way of a good book. You'll have to tell me a few of your favorites because that goodreads website is too confusing for me to navigate through.

Don't you wish you had to do your daily reading? I do. I would put the kids in the laundry room and tell them to get to work while I got in my 30 minutes! Good job on the running. YOu're doing great, keep it up.
