. . .Like the Corners of my Mind

My friend Tresa has this post on her blog and it seems like a pretty fun game to try. So, let's give it a try. I have one request though, don't retell any memories that might incriminate me or send the authorities after me!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments

Winnie,

Wow - where to begin! I have a lot of fun memories of you. One of the first I remember was sitting behind you in sacrament meeting for the first time and thinking your family was perfect (dress, hair, and behavior) and then finding out the very next hour that I was Rachel's new primary teacher. Talk about high pressure! Then I tried to vent to Kent about how worried I was because my class had such smart kids in it (I didn't mention names) and his response was something like, "Yeah. The Miller kids know the lessons better than you ever will. Good luck!" You had me so afraid!

How funny that my sister's comment is what it is, without even reading it my comment was going to be about you as the mother of Emma when she was in my primary class (and she was only 5).

I'll never forget the week she informed me I was teaching the wrong lesson. I told her that I had not skipped a single lesson since taking over and therefore I must be teaching the right lesson. Her response was awesome! "Have you checked the schedule lately?" When I did I realized I was indeed a week behind!

Any mom whose five-year-old daughter knows to check the teaching schedule must run a tight ship at home. Emma was truly a perfect angel that whole year.

This is so incredibly ironic or creepy but my first memory was of how I taught both your girls in Primary and great they were! I am not kidding! Who would have thought that three people would have the same memory. I also remember the first time i saw you and thinking how truly beautiful you were. Now I know you better and I know for sure how beautiful you really are. I know that sounds corny, but it's true!

I remember the first time I met you. Halloween 2000, and you and the girls were all very cute witches that year. And you were very pregnant with Caleb. I immediately liked you, and thought your girls were darling. And now we are related! Yeah for me.

I remember when you were my visiting teacher, back in the day when Spencer and Emma were just finishing kindergarten, you told me you were looking for a teacher that pushed reading because Emma had finished the Little House On The Praire books. I thought for sure Spencer had a learning disablity. Come to find out, Emma is just a super smart, and Spencer was just a typical boy who didn't care to read!--Luckily that has changed and I get to work on getting Jaxon to like reading!

My ongoing memory of you is that you always have such a pleasant look on your face. Like you are full of a confidence made from good choices and a loving family. I remember your kids doing gymnastics in your backyard and me onlooking and wishing that I had beautiful brown haired girls someday to teach gymnastics to. As of yet, I only have blonde boys, go figure.

To the Millers,
I remember when we went to Seven Peaks with you for the first time and you were engaged to Sam. I loved you and I was excited to have you in the family already because I was impressed with how outgoing and nice you were.

But, when we were at Seven Peaks, somebody was discussing taking a car and you stood up for yourself and you wouldn't back down. You were doing this all while keeping your pleasant demeanor. Wow, spunky and nice! I knew right then that you were perfect for Sam.

For Shana,

I remember that we were supposed to take dinner over to someone in the ward that broke her foot. You picked me up and we took dinner over to her. I always admired you for your sense of style but after talking to you for a while in the car, I appreciated your sarcastic sense of humor as well.

For Heather,

I remember looking out my kitchen window one day and you were out mowing the lawn on your rider mower and you were wearing a cowboy hat. I just thought to myself, "I have a very cute neighbor."

I know, that's a really random memory but it's the first one that popped into my head.
