An Author in Our Midst

I have a niece named Ellery. She is six years old and she really likes my kids. One time when her family were visiting, she asked Rachel to make up a story for her. Sometime last semester in her creative writing class, she was asked to make a children's book. She spent a lot of time on it and worked on it until it was just like she wanted it. It's been on display and in some kind of fair and Rachel just barely got her book back. So Ellery Bean, this is for you. (Someday I'll get a scanner *sigh*)

That's a great story! I love the name Ellery Bean. That would make a cute book title, too!

Wow! I had no idea Rachel had so much hidden talent; not just with the writing but with the artwork too! That is amazing! What a lucky little Ellery to have such an awesome cousin writing books for her.

So great, Rachel. Elle is in bed, so I haven't had a chance to show her yet. But I can't wait to -- she will LOVE that her cousin Rachel wrote a story with a character named Ellery! Great story, and the illustrations are amazing!

Umm . . . I get the hint. I'll try to be better. Now his another hint: this book would be an awesome birthday/Christmas present to Elle or the King.
I loved how the shadow of the eye was the size of the football field - very creative.

WOW! I'm speechless! The story was so cute and the artwork was absolutely amazing! It's a creative writing class, so I'm sure that artistic talents are optional, but she did a phenomenal job! Winnie, you must be so proud. One day I'll be reading her books to my grandkids and I'll tell them how she was this beautiful girl right in my neighborhood.
