A Day for Mom

Ah, Mother's Day. One day in the year when mother's get little tokens of appreciation and love. I had a pretty good Mother's Day; I had breakfast with my mom, got chocolate in church (I'm always up for chocolate), and had a nice dinner with Brad's mom in Salt Lake. This year I got some nice things for Mother's Day; I got a nice cannister set for the kitchen (the previous cannisters were a wedding present), some wonderful cards from Caleb and Emma, a necklace from Rachel that she made herself and a trip to San Diego in June with my girlfriends from Brad. (That is deserving of it's own post later.) I think I did pretty good this year.
Here's the little book that Emma made me.

She was looking over my shoulder when I was reading the book. When I read this page out loud, she added, "Well not anything, I can probably walk."
Here's the necklace that Rachel made me. She surprised me with it by putting in my medicine cabinet a few days after Mother's Day. So cute!

Caleb made a little book too. It was accompanied by some popcorn and juice boxes for us to spend some quality time together.

Just a sample of the artwork inside.

Allow me to share with you some of the things that he wrote in his book. On the page above, he says, "My mom gets mad when I complain about piano. She always says, "Piano helps hand eye coordination." I don't think I've ever said that to him but he tells me that's what he hears me say in his head when he complains.

"My mom is special because she is short. There is not very much moms that are short." Apparently he thinks I'm a midget.

"My mom and I had the most fun together when both of us aren't grumpy. Because then we can play games." It is sometimes hard to make sure our grumpy schedules match up.

I'm so blessed to be a mom of three of the best and coolest kids I know!

Holy cow! You scored. Just that little book by Caleb would have melted my heart. Your kids are so dang creative and VERY thoughtful! You deserve it! Glad you had a great Mother's Day.
