Mile High Fun

We were fortunate enough this June to be able to visit Brad's brother Sam and his wife Rachel and their dear family in Denver in June. we were all looking forward to the visit and when we got there on the 22nd, we made ourselves at home.
The kids watching what I'm sure was NOT Glenn Beck. (Or Ken Buck, as Bennett calls him.)
Yup, we made ourselves real comfortable,
maybe we made or selves a little TOO comfortable. (So sorry about that Rachel.)
Bounce the baby. (No babies were harmed during this stunt.)
I knew that Caleb was really excited to play with his cousins but I was very pleasantly surprised to see that in spite of the huge age difference, Rachel and Emma were equally happy to play join in on the hijinx. (Another nice thing about that is that Rach and Em are older and have more common sense-boy, did that save many an accident.)

The next morning, we took it easy and some of us went to the park (Aunt Rachel, the kids and I), some of us went to buy shoes (Brad, me, Rachel, Caleb, Elle and Bennett) and some of us took naps (Emma, Reagan and Campbell). We were resting up for the big event in the evening.

Brad and Sam lived for a year in Boston when they were younger and because of that, they have become Red Sox fans. So imagine our good luck when we found out that the Colorado Rockies playing the Boston Red Sox coincided with our trip to Denver. Coors Stadium, here we come! We went with Sam and the two older kids Ellery and Bennett while (Aunt)Rachel stayed at home with Reagan and Campbell.

What a game! The Rockies won the game during the last few minutes of the game. The Red Sox Nation was disappointed. But as Sam wisely stated, "You can't be a true Sox fan until you have tasted disapointment." Wise man, that Sam. As we got into our car (which was about a mile away), Bennett muttered, "Rockies, I do NOT like your style." Wise boy, that Bennett.

As fun as it was watching the game, I think that we just enjoyed being there and hanging out together.
Stay tuned for more.

You got great pictures as the Red Sox game. So glad you are posting about the trip -- you are smart to break it up in several posts since we did so many fun things! Right?
