It's Like I'm watching Jimmer

Caleb loves basketball. He loves watching it, playing it and thinking about it. He knows much more about the history of basketball than a ten year old should.
He was on a Jr. Jazz team this year. He was one of the smallest but definitely one of the fastest. That boy has some ball handling skills. See his team picture? He has an air of confidence in him, doesn't he? During one game we were watching, all the boys on his team were really excited and jumping around, trying to guard their guys. Rach, Emma and I had to laugh because Caleb was nonchalantly guarding his man with his arms up and casually blowing bubbles. He did a good job, I guess it was just another day at the office for him.

His favorite NBA team: The Celtics. He recently saved his money and spent $60 of his hard earned money to buy himself a shooting shirt. Since I never buy anything that isn't on sale, I'm pretty sure that his shirt is the most expensive one in the house. Both Caleb and Emma are pretty emotionally invested in the Celtics. When they were eliminated from the playoffs last week, there were a couple of pretty disappointed kids. As soon as the buzzer went off, Emma went outside in the backyard and started running back and forth as fast as she could (she said she almost started to cry.) Caleb simply walked up to the tv, turned it off and went to his room without saying a word. I guess it runs in the family because Brad told me that when he was ten and the 76ers were eliminated, he cried too.

His favorite NCAA team: BYU. No big surprise there.

Favorite players: Jimmer Fredette, Kevin Durrant and Rajon Rondo

There is a mini basketball hoop that we have downstairs that we've owned since Rachel could barely walk. I hear a lot of banging around down there.

Yesterday Caleb came up and asked me to take pictures of his slam dunks. We were both pleased with the results. In fact, he wanted to be sure I would post them.

So without further ado, Dr. Dunkenstein (wait, that name is already taken, isn't it?)

Look, he even has his game face on. Pretty sweet, huh?
