We invited everyone that was in town to come to our house for pizza kindly supplied by Wood and Susan. Trent and Caroline, Wood and Susan, Dan and Abby were able to come. Although not every Miller was able to come, it was really nice to just hang out with the ones who could in a casual setting.
Thursday started out as a normal day with the kids going to school and Brad and I doing a semi-normal routine. (I even went swimming that morning.) In the afternoon, the Tripletts arrived from California. I need to say that the weather Thursday morning was horrendous. It was snowing--sideways. I think more than one of us were worried about the pictures we would have to take outside the temple the next day. When Brian and Valerie drove up to our house, there was the usual squealing and joyful havoc and mayhem and then we proceeded to get ready for the wedding dinner. (Luckily, the weather had cleared up to a sunny but chilly afternoon.)
The wedding dinner took place at the White Willow reception center, which is a restored Victorian house in Provo. Since the dinner was only for people twelve and older, my mom kindly offered to watch Caleb, Jake and Grace while the rest of us went to dinner. I think the younger kids were just as excited to go to Poa Poa's house as we were to go to a fancy dinner, so all were happy. I took a ton of pictures at the dinner but unfortunately, it was not with my own camera. So Caroline, if you've got time, could you send me some of the pictures that I took on your camera? (Sorry, I went kind of nuts with your camera at the dinner and the reception.) At the dinner, we were able to spend time with Trent's family and get to know them a bit better. They are really nice and fun people.
We were also able to meet Campbell Miller, my newest niece, for the first time. Sam and Rachel sure make beautiful babies! Thanks so much Rach, for sharing your pictures with me!
Me, Valerie and Rachel in our silky shirts at the White Willow.
The handsome couple.
When did these kids get looking so grown up? Rachel, Sara, Sydney and Emma in the first picture; Dan, Rachel, Sydney, Emma and Hunter in the second. (Of course I was already reeling with the thought that the curly haired two year old I knew and loved was getting married the next day.)
The handsome Miller boys: Sam, Derek, Dan and Brad. (See, even the back of Brad's head is handsome.)
A few tears were shed and a lot of laughter was heard as we all shared with Trent and Caroline our memories and insights with them. The dinner was delicious and the company divine as we all separated and prepared for the next day.
. . .and what a day it will be.
